This recycled elephant is made in Mathare slum by youth employment workshop Zakale Creations. A lot of work goes into creating this item! First the tin is collected in and around the slum. It is then washed and shredded. Then the wire body is made using recycled wire. The tin is then threaded around the body and bound using recycled telephone wire. Zakale Creations is an inspirational workshop which has helped many young people in the slum. 100% recycled! Length: 6.5″ (17cm) approximately exc. tail Height: 4″ (10cm)
